Here are images from the class demo on 3/18 and an idea of what might be done with each tool - salt and paraffin:

This is a simple sketch of what scribbling with a candlestick can do.  Crayons could be interesting, too.


Here's an example of a painting using just a bit of candle wax here and there ...




Here is what happens when you sprinkle table salt over damp paint.  Too much salt makes a lump.  Too wet, and the crystals are dissolved...




 

Here is what can happen when you use kosher salt, which has larger grains:


Happy salting!  The glue demo didn't turn out at all well, and I didn't get a chance to see what sprinkling with Parmesan-Romano can do for a wash, but if you find yourself in the glue department at Staples or Office Depot, you might want to check for rubber cement.  That will open a whole new realm of possibilities.
